Default Mud Flaps

After a couple of days ownership, I have noticed that the tailgate and rear bumper get filthy ( or as today covered in a layer of dust) .Has anyone retro fitted mudflaps and found an improvement in this respect? I had them fitted front and rear to my 2016 plate XC60 and found them a bonus on our country lanes .

They are not effective against dust or spray but are effective to an extent against more solid mud. There is a limit though and i find the front ones on the xc90 with 20” wheels to be too narrow at the top. It’s marginally better with the narrower 19” wheels but not as good as they should be

I had mudflaps installed and for me it made a huge difference. Without the flaps the dirt was everywhere.

Ordered some from China, had them on my last 60, they even had Volvo branding on them.

Somemonths ago I was a grear advocate of Chinese mudflaps. Identical down to brandińg and apparant part number. HOWEVER, in the last couple of months both the rear flaps have fractured right across at the point where the flap meets the bodywork. When the first one failed I thought maybe I had reversed against a kerb and caught it but now I doubt it, I spotted the second one when it was cracked half way across.
