AC not working
Hello, my aircon works on cold for about 5 mins and then just pushes out warm/ambient air. It won’t push out cold air again until the car has been switched off and left for a while. It then fails again after 5 mins. Volvo have told me it’s a faulty compressor. The job is very expensive. I want to do it myself. Does it sound like a compressor change? How difficult is this job and does anyone have any videos? My XC90 is a 2004 2.4 D5. Thanks in advance.

Before doing anything else, watch this first.

Deffo sounds like gap adjustment required. Even if it does need a new condenser, it's a cheap DIY job to fit a second hand one and then get the system re-charged (you will need to get it drained first also).
