I really like my blonde interior apart from the hideous steering wheel. When I investigated replacing it with a black one it was gonna cost several hundred pounds. I don't hate the two-tone one that much.

It really should be a configurable option.

And therein lies the problem, hence why I wish it were configurable as in other markets!! Look this fella has one, start at around 3:50!

Another of those high-handed Volvo UK-only restrictions - everyone else gets choices we don’t...

Absolutely agree. Its clearly very subjective, but personally i think in the 'premium' market, Volvo, JLR and to a certain extent Lexus are leaving the German rivals looking very stale and out of date in the looks department.

I've said it before, imagine a Volvo with a 3 litre engine and some of the tech from the VW stable, it would be a class leader.

Sorry, my comments re. the look of the cars were across the board and with particular reference to the OP and the great looking V60.

The engine reference was more specific to my experience with the XC90 however, where the T6 in my mind is a none starter, as according to real world economy figures its returning approx 23-24 mpg. The Audi 3 litre on the other hand is returning 34-35 mpg and is silky smooth and refined. The D5 in my XC90 is the weakest link, returning around 32mpg and not being overly powerful or refined.

Have to agree about the D5. It's the most unrefined diesel engine of the ones I'm familiar with (BMW, VAG).

Mine sounds positively agricultural except at motorway speeds. Having said that, a loaner I had at the last service seemed quieter and it left me wondering if mine was built on a Friday afternoon what with the noise and the amount of soot deposited on the tailpipes.

I'm not really a fan of premium fuels (snake oil?) but on the odd occasion I've fill up with it the engine does seem to run smoother (or I'm kidding myself). I filled up this morning with BP Ultimate at £1.47 same as I usually do when Amex have their offer of a £5 credit when you spend £50 on fuel. The current offer is for every BP fill-up until end Aug. I'm so easily bought...
