Firstly, does your system have a disc in the player under the passenger seat?
If not, your system has never been updated and you will have the 2006 version. If you do have a disc in the machine, there will be a version number on it; a part number and a number that ends with xx/yy; something like 28/12 which would indicate week 28, 2012. You can also go into the system and select a page which will give you system information, but I can’t remember the actual sequence; it’s something like “settings”. Unfortunately I have sold our XC90 so can’t go and have a look. The operating system changed in 2006, but your car being a 2007 model should use the HDD version that uses 2 discs to update, rather than 4 discs as used by the earlier versions and that used on the V70 and XC70 models.
