Default Rear view mirror reattachment

Hi,

I have a 2010 xc90, my daughter has knocked the rear view mirror out of its housing. The little circular screw on top of the mirror needs pushing back into its housing however it doesn't seem possible the way I am trying. Has anyone experienced this before?

I have attached some pictures here to show what I mean.

That's designed to un-clip in case of an accident.
Not so easy to clip back in.

Lubricate the edges of the piece that sites inside the 4 jaws, and also the jaws.
Use something like a smear of dishwashing liquid
Try to click it back in, it'll take some force. A short hard shock should get it back in
Try not to break anything though!

If you cannot get it to go in, you may need to start disassembling things to figure out a better way...
