Default 2019 V90 Cross Country collision

While driving up through France from Spain to catch the last ferry back to UK I was rear ended by a Peugeot.
We were on a slip road going a moray and the idiot in front of me jammed on his brakes and stopped.
The auto-braking activated on my V90 and stopped us abruptly. Unfortunately the Peugeot behind rear-ended us.
No one hurt but the driver who caused it drove off at speed with no damage.
Which would you rather have been driving?

I have tried to add picture of Peugeot, but the system won't let me load it.

Hi JBD,

It's good that no-one in your car was hurt and I hope that the rest of the journey was uneventful. Sadly, the photos are coming up as an 'invalid attachment'. I'm assuming that the car stood up to it well; we don't call our V90 CC 'Sherman' for nothing.

Safe travels.

Both cars were damaged. The Peugeot was smashed as it really hit us quite hard. My V90 CC had only bumper damage, although I would like to check out the structure underneath.
I tried to upload photos, but the forum system would not let me. I would like to erase this post and upload the photos onto a new post. But I cannot seem to delete the post either.

The Peugeot looks very sad for itself, the V90 survived with little surface damage volvos are tank like, sorry this happened to you at least no injuries. Many years ago approx 1992/3 I had a SAAB 9000 saloon and was sitting at traffic lights when I saw an escort van/ estate approaching behind at speed. I braced myself for the impact which was one of the worst I have experienced. I got out of the 9000 and the escort was literally concertina’d the driver had to climb out of the window. The SAAB which was a dark blue metallic only had a small amount of light blue paint from the other car, no dents no visual damage. The car was a company one and had a full check and came through with flying colours apart from the bumper repair. Those original SAABs were beautiful things, they gave you a feeling of solidity and safety. They don’t make them like they used too do.

Please do that, the actual bumper is not what's on the surface!

From what I can see, the Peugeot did a great job keeping the occupants safe.
