Under Glove Box Trim Panel ....
On my 'new' 1998 V70 T5 auto the trim panel under the glove box has partially given up the ghost. I guess too many knees have hit it over the years.
The three plastic screw securing tabs/brackets at the front leading edge of the panel that appear to fit up under the trim below the front of the glove box have snapped off. The trim flops down being held somewhere at the back to prevent the whole panel falling into the passenger footwell. I guess from the looks of it that there are some holding screws at the back edge of the panel that are holding it up. If I open the glove box door and remove the box itself I assume that once I have refurbished the tabs that I can re-secure the trim panel in it's proper place? As a safety point should I disconnect the battery to avoid accidentally arming the srs? Cheers, Bob |

As it doesn't seem that anyone here has had experience of this I just searched YouTube and found one of Robert's many useful Volvo video tips covering a wide variety of models one of which happened to be on the precise subject.
Don't know why I didn't think of it before: https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q...6FORM%3DVDVVXX Bob |

Just read your post and was going to suggest you check Roberts videos - I was watching his heater matrix replacement one last night and it included removing those panels.

Same problem
The same thing has happened to me today.
Drove over a bump and the panel under the glove box fell off only hanging by the wire for the foot well light. Both of the brackets have broken so I guess it was just hanging by the central clip. Has anyone had a go at repairing the brackets so it can be properly reattached? |

The same thing happened to me too just last Monday. I've spent a week thinking about how to fix it before asking for suggestions.
