S40 CD Not working
Hi
My S40 SE has the SC-805 Cassette and Cd head unit in, but the Cd player has decided not to accept CD's. The Volvo dealer says they would need to send it away to be looked at (£80) before they even start looking at it. Me thinks it would be better to replace with another make head unit, but the size difference would mean a big hole in the dash board. is there anyway of blanking off the hole that would be left. after the removal of the volvo headunit and replaceing with a standard DIN head unit? thank in advance R@TTY :D |

RE: S40 CD Not working
Hi.
Volvo do standard size head units in the x40s. All you need to do is go to your dealer and order the little pocket that you fit into the dash below where a standard DIN radio would fit. Easy push in fit. Make sure you just go straight to Volvo and get the pocket that will fit. I bought the Halfords version to start with, and it was utter pants!! Kept falling into the dashboard. The Volvo one is excellent and it matches the rest of the car. Same price too, but the Volvo item was far superior in quality. Cheers, Dan. |

RE: S40 CD Not working
My V40 has (I assume) the Volvo pocket, it clicks in and out eaily (if the radio has been removed), feels very secure, and is finished in the same material as the other pockets in the dashboard.
