XC90 Gearbox type code and replacement

Dear Members, Thank you for letting me in. I need information and hope you guys can help in detail and I hope that I have not broken the forum rules in this post.
I just bought an XC90 with the following details:- 2.4 diesel automatic d5 2007 reg VIN YV1CZ714671352628 Uk reg was MEZ 6826 (Square reverse lights not the round ones). The car is registered and is in mainland Europe at the moment and the old owner is here in the UK as well. I have the following questions:-
1) WHat type of Auto gearbox does it has-Googling it comes as a 6-speed TF80SC. The owner doesn't remember if it was 5 or 6-speed. I need this if I need to look for a replacement to be sure of as nobody is there to take a picture of the plates on the gearbox to send me.
2) It was working fine but stopped going into gears at all. Just before that, I was drivable in 2 gears. Now sometimes reverse works but not all the time. What can be the probable causes of this malfunctioning? Shall I just buy a Valve body or another gearbox?
3) From what other vehicles I can use the gearbox? I read it could be used from Citroen and Peugeot models?? I have found a few ads overseas with Peugeot and Citroen logos on the Gearbox with TF80SC AM6 written on it. Are the internals of all those gearboxes the same or had been modified for the XC90. If they can be used do I just swap the TCM-Gearbox ECU with the replacement gearbox.
4) Has anyone got the full workshop manual( including gearboxes etc) to share with me as I have contacted 2 eBay sellers but no one has replied to verify the contents of the manual.
5) If anyone could share the cheapest way to buy the diagnostic software and cable equipment needed for this XC90 as I understand that I will need to use it for adaptions after and during gearbox oil changes etc. Any links to eBay etc will be of great help. I do have a diagnostic ob2 kit that uses Delphi and wow software. Would they do the job as well? I know a mechanic who could help and has worked with repairing plant machinery and 4x4 gearboxes but is too old to travel to the car and take it off etc. I am trying to do and buy stuff from my end in order to become a proud owner as I wanted to have XC90 for a long time.
