Mine's lasted not quite 2 years!!

the driver's one came off last night - not bad, I use it daily....

going to dig out the Loctite stuff tonight - I think the activator is well out of date but going to give it a go

I hope I don't tempt fate here, but mine are still strong on both the front quarterlights and the rear vents (early estate) so that's got to be 5 years now I think!

Malcolm,

How are the VW latches attached to the glass? I've never seen those before, but they look like they could work nicely. The original ones I reattached with Loctite 349 glue are still holding on after close to 4 years, which is a very pleasant surprise, especially since the car has been a daily driver virtually that entire time.

HI Stan

The piece that goes to the glass just slides on as it wraps around the glass so does not need to be glued all you have to remember is to keep hold of the clasp I think if you require you could use a old bicycle inner tube folded and cut to fit but I haven't bothered I hope this helps
