There are 2 replaceable ABS rings one on each front drive shaft at the hub end. The ones on the rear are inside the hub bearing assembly so really go wrong as they don't rust.

I have a 06 XC70 and there are 4 reluctor rings, one on the end of each driveshaft.
However there are other reasons specific to the XC's awd system that can throw up the same fault messages, Dem failure, hydraulic pump failure, pressure sensor failure, clogged hydraulic oil filter, faulty valve in the haldex, dem supply fuse blown in the rem to name but a few.
I would invest in a Dice and download a copy of vida, there's a copy of vida 2010 on a vwware image file on the net somewhere, i installed it on my windows 10 machine and it runs fine.
My own was showing the same message when i bought it, turned out i had a failed hydraulic pump in the haldex and a failed pressure sensor, replaced them both and problem solved.
I would read the faults from the car (or get them read) and go from there,
throwing money at parts in the hope that you replace the right one is lunacy.
Think of vida and a dice unit like a spanner, if you haven't got the right one for the job you won't be doing it.
My setup has paid for itself many, many times over.

Thanks all for your help and advice.
I found a used VIDA/DICE set-up for sale on Gumtree and decided to take a punt on the basis that it should pay for itself in the not too distant future (if it works!)
Now I just need a cheap laptap. Apparently it needs the following:
- Windows 7 professional operating system 32 64 bit, win8 all ok
- Internet Explorer 9 or newer
- Computer memory needs over 3G RAM
- C:// must have 30GB space
- NTFS format

Going from people that have successfully downloaded VIDA onto a laptop, does that sound accurate?

Thanks again

You can also run it on XP Pro with 2Gb which is what I have on a Samsung Netbook.

I have bought a used laptop and VIDA disc to help properly diagnose a couple of issue with the car. The software seemed to load OK but I'm getting a http://localhost/vida and 'localhost' message on the internet explorer page. I just cannot get beyond this and VIDA wont open

Does anyone have any ideas please?
