This is the same as all other car manufacturers when a recall happens. Unless it is a really urgent safety recall when sometimes a short turn fix is required while they organise things. Or in the case of Vauxhall deny there is a problem (heater control systems going up in flames) My first older XC90 had a power steering hose recall because of an incident somewhere of the hose hitting the fan blade, the quick fix was taking it in for a two minute job to put a tie wrap on to hold pipe away from fan, later a bracket was fitted.

But when you contact them they either know nothing about it or tell you not to worry if you have no symptoms as per letter, if you ever had a letter that is. |

Not at all worried by this,just not very confidence inspiring in the event of a REAL recall.
Car running OK and if it should self immolate I am sufficiently mobile to exit stage right. It is what we have insurance for and it is only a car. |
