It would be beneficial in the longer term to get a copy of VIDA/DICE unit as it would give you the full freedom to diagnose yourself.

Thanks for the link. Ordered from another seller via prime.
I do have Vida cable and had a download on an older Mac but need to get it working again but the Bluetooth option is more portable and will at least help me understand what codes have been flagged if I get the engineer service back again this trip. .... but fingers crossed that doesn’t happen. Just got another 1700 km to go as next stage of holiday is to Carcasonne then home to north of England 👍🏻 |

So - back home and car was showing signs of reduced power and lower MPG. Have just scanned with Vida and I see the following codes
ECM-135F Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor - signal too low ECM-1507 Turbo Control - Too low pressure ECM-1890 Swirl actuator control - jammed ECM-28E0 Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) signal too low ECM-2810 Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) - signal missing Now I suspect that the MAF and O2 sensor codes are a symptom of something else, but is the swirl actuator related ? or could this all be that the garage in France that replaced the crankcase breather pipework (p/n 30757132) have disturbed some pipework causing leaks in the induction system? PS - I have checked the swirl arm and it is connected, but I see no movement when starting the car. Thanks in advance |

Also, if you click on every other code in Vida then View Information, it will explain the circumstances of the code and the possible causes and fixes. You then just work through the possibilities.

Can you help me with the facility in Vida to move it ? I am struggling to get to grips with Vida and can't even get the option to erase the DTC's on the delivery tab.
Thanks |

You move stuff by using Diagnostics >Vehicle Communication >ECM (from the overhead vehicle diagram) >Activations
If it isn't in Activations, try Advanced No Erase instruction in the Delivery tab? Who did you buy Vida from?

Just a quick bit of advice on finding coolant leaks. Try looking when it is dark/dusk or even in a dimly lit garage. When you use a torch in these badly lit conditions the light reflects off the steam and the leak/steam shows up far more clearly. Get the car very hot and check all around the engine bay shining the light from different directions. good to have a mate help who looks from a different direction too. Also check in the cabin as near the heater element as you can to see if its leaking(remember to have heater on hot to make sure water is flowing through it.)
