Default Volvo on call disabled

Hi all,

Just wanted to ask here, I did search but the information previously is going on 5 years old so wanted to see what the situation is now.

My car (2008 V70) has the Volvo on call system, although it hasn't had a subscription in 2485 days !

However the system would still work for SOS and the buttons would work etc. But last night I got a message on the dash dial saying Volvo "on call deactivated"

Now the buttons don't seem to work.

Is there a way to retrieve the service of SOS only without purchasing an annual subscription ? Is there anything I can do with vida to fix this ?

I did a few months ago get a message saying the on call service required so when I looked at it with vida it was the battery that was low, so I used vida to reset it and it's been fine until this.

Any help appreciated !

Thanks all

Just to bump if anyone has an update or advice on this ?

I called up a local Volvo dealer and they said they would have to plug the car in and charge a diagnostic fee for it ,

So I rang Volvo head office themselves to see if they had anything to do with oncall and the person tried help, explained that the message was too notify me of the subscription is expired but she did say it expired 7 years ago so strange for it to come up now.

She said to drop it into a main dealer and if they can't fix it to refer it further to technical team.

The only thing about this is I don't want the actual oncall subscription, just the SOS button incase something goes wrong or the car ends up upside down. The buttons for SOS and oncall have been working no problem since I got the car, but not anymore since the the message "on call deactivated" came on

Any advice anyone ?

I checked vida again and the car isint giving any errors except 1 glow plug !
