It could be a leaky fuel pipe that allows air in and fuel to flow back towards the tank or elsewhere. Check the security of the fuel system first. Then check the fuel pump is working (Lots of threads on here) also check the Fuel pump relay is working correctly (likewise regarding other threads. It sounds like you have power if it is turning the engine over.

When was the fuel filter last changed? You may have a little air getting in there if it is corroded

Which means that you've got new oil and filters, which is great. But a service won't even check things like fuel pump, pipes and relay, let alone rectify them.

That full service probably won't have included a filter either. Despite being on an interval I've not heard of dealers or several excellent indies doing them. Furthermore, I'd like to echo Luxobarges point, which means you have an awful lot you can check and rule out.

Oil filter and plugs yes but how about the fuel filter? There is likely to be a fuel non return valve the same as on the 240, this can be a problem. Can anyone confirm is this in the C/V70 system?
