Hello Traveller
My 240 originally had Nivomat shocks, but when they gave out i could not afford new one's and went for the plain and simple ordinary ones.
Since then her bottom has continued to sag lower and lower, i have been carrying chunky loads in her, mostly pallets that i cut up and burn in my stove, six pallets in the back and two or three on the roofrack.
The new heavy duty springs are designed for 240's /260's that do not have Nivomats fitted and i can confirm that they are the dogs wotsits.
If i load her up with pallets now she hardly sits down, her ride quality unladen is everso slightly harsher, but driving on Guernsey roads( which are ****e and only good for Army tank exercises ) you can hardly notice the difference, i can fully recommend them

Nice one, think thats a january job. I'm allways carrying heavy loads in my boot, it looks full loaded even when its empty.

Hi traveller...it might be worth procuring the lower spring retaining cups as well in january..(volvo only methinks)..after all the hard work i had to do on my bus i had to run around with very badly rusted ones for a week..i was kicking myself for not adding these to the equation..sometimes the cup itself rusts through to fag paper thin and crumbles on removal..or the bolt just spins in the cup...check out mike braces how to do on suspension to see these cups and then you can make a choice..cheers hj.

Didnt think of that. I think this time of year, do it all at the same time, probably brakes aswell, get it all done in one day, if i found anything bad down there i wouldnt be able to leave it so i might aswell do what i can in one go, especially now that i dont have to do my front shocks.
