Down here in Australia after sales support is pretty horrendous - they don't get called stealerships for nothing. The difference between a good Japanese brand like Lexus and Volvo is night and day.

Having said that I've got nothing but praise for the car itself. Parts are pretty exorbitant - $150 for a short loom with a cheap plug on both ends, for example - but as long as you don't get unlucky they aren't too expensive to own.

Yes I would definitely - but having just acquired my first brand new one (XC60 D4 FWD) I'm looking for a good 480 Turbo...

I love my car but I don't think I'll buy another Volvo.

I'm not a fan of 2 litre, 4 pot engines. Especially when they cost the same as 3 litre, 6 cylinder rivals.

I'd consider a V40 if I ever wanted a smaller car, but I can't see that happening.

It's a shame VAG didn't buy Volvo instead of Chinese owners.

You still have the XC60 with D5 to choose

Good job they did not we then would all be beholding to a shower of Mrs Mirkles boys who will do anything to cheat the system trying to monopolize everything.

Volvo paid Geely 6 billion krona to give them control of the company about 18 months ago.

The Chinese wanted them to fit bigger engines and they refused as it is against the concept of sustainability they believe in.

VAG seem to be going the same route. There is no engine for the TT that isn't a two litre 4 pot this year. The lovely 5 pot TT RS has gone.

Yes but the TT is a small car. The concerns here are about fitting 4-cylinder engines to the 90-series cars.
Put head-to-head the D4 V90 beat the A6 in this week's AutoExpress. That's a good result. How the result would fare with a D5 pitted against the 3-litre A6 might remains to be determined.

The point I'm making is that Audi with that model have gone from offering a 3.2 litre 6 cylinder engine to only offering a 2 litre four cylinder one. I chose that example as that is the only Audi model I have looked at as a new purchase and saw the same trend to two litres as Volvo.

However I see that the TT RS with the 2.5 litre 5 pot will be available some time in the future, just not at the moment. So good news for us 5 pot lovers.

I continue to wonder if there is a secret 'plan B' to expand the VEA to 6-cylinders, just as JLR have announced they are doing with the Ingenium block. With all the computer modelling available today, it can't be that difficult.
