Is it me, or are there no posts currently here regarding the CFE devices?
I've had issues with my CFE Plus since SwedeSolutions took the support over, and no matter what I post, or how many times I post, on their website, no one ever gets back to me.
I'd love to know what's going on and how I can get my issues resolved.
They update the firmware, but that's it!

I've just bought one (s/h) from this forum, and I've had a previous model CFE before.

For various reasons I won't be in a position to play with it until Easter, but I will be happy to discuss your issues at that time.

My unit works up to a point, but there are so many issues that I just cannot resolve, even with firmware updates.
SwedeSolutions appear to me to be company that have taken on the unit from the original company and now wiped their hands clean.
I have emailed them so many times I've lost count and never had any response from them.
It seems that they are just not interested in the old client base and just want to sell the units, as is, with no support.
Lord knows what their 'firmware updates' are. But from my guess, there'll be no improvements!
I look forward to your comments once you've installed your unit.

I have a CFE+ and use it a lot

Describe your issues... maybe I can help shed light on them...

make sure you say what year end engine your XC90 is, as this has an impact

The SwedeSolutuions website is quite clear, they are a different entity to the original developers/vendors of your CFE.

As such they cannot and will not accept any responsibility for the older models.

The fact that they are ignoring your requests for assistance is sad, I would expect any reputable organisation, faced with the situation they have inherited, to develop a stock response which they could send out to every request for assistance/information.

At least then you might not feel so ignored...

They suggest you need to contact the original vendors and request service/assistance from them... but I guess, even if they were still trading (I don't think so), your CFE would be out of warranty anyway.

All is not lost however, between me and Swiss (and anyone who wants to join in), we can try to help you.

One thing SwedeSolutions (SS) mentions on their website, is that some of the previous CFE+ boxes, sent out by the original company, did not have the serial number entered into the "profile".

The new firmware, supplied gratis from SS, looks for this serial number as part of the boot up process.
If the info isn't there, the software fails/doesn't run properly.

I think I saw an option to have this serial number entered somehow but would need to go back and double check that.

il buy it off you if you dont like it?. i coud even swap/deal on an older cfe unit if possible ..

The owner of the original company VolvoTech EU died, and part of the company's assets were sold to Swede Solutions. Only part, not all.
And SwedeSolutions did not take on any commitment to support anything supplied and sold by VolvoTech.

Swede Solutions are continuing the work on the CFE+ and have progressed the firmware a lot, and as a consequence the CFE has improved a lot in the last 2 years.

They have been very responsive to my requests, and have made improvements to the CFE+ and to the CFE Updater app based on my feedback, which was mainly small bug fixes, typos, and text improvements.

Many small companies suffer growing pains, and one of them is being able to find time and resources to respond to email questions from around the entire planet.

The current owner may be focussed on making new options and not have time to answer emails.
Or, heaven forbid, he may be sick.

What I have found helps a lot is to make your requests simple, clear, and easy to follow. Remember that the person reading them often does not have English as a first language.
Adding photos and screenshots helps enormously.

But anyway: share your problems here and maybe myself and others can offer advice....

As Swiss said, it's a tricky situation brought on by sudden death of the VolvoTech chap and the new business being exactly that - a new and separate business. Though of course always good to keep old, new and potential customers happy.

It'd be good to see them grow, develop new kit and perhaps reintroduce or improve on the VolvoTech VBB4 / reverse cam. Though Naviks now seems to do something very similar.

I've got a CFE Plus and very happy with it - in a 2014 SE Lux. I wouldn't be without it now and it works (nearly all of the time) very well. I do remember it wasn't the easiest to set up and get going with, so feel free pick (collective) brains. Updating to the latest firmware is necessary to get started with it, at least in my car.
