I have 10 Litres of Shell Helix Ultra 05w-30 will it be ok to use in a 09 s80 2.5t.If not anybody want to buy it?

Grade is correct, but needs be to A5/B5 spec to be suitable for Volvo engine.

Just found this advert, which says one version of that oil meets that spec... just check it is the right version...

It is A5-B5 but when i put year and model in EuroCarParts it says it is 0w-30.I was wondering if it is ok using 5w instead of 0w

There should be a sticker under the bonnet that specifies the oil grade for your engine. I use 0W-30 Castrol Edge A5/B5 in my 2009 V70 2.5T but 5W-40 in my high mileage 1995 850 T5.

I am only asking cos i bought the 5w-30 for my 2011 s60 which i no longer have so i was wondering if it's ok for my s80 which says 0w-30 or do i need to buy new oil.

You'll be fine using the 5w because the UK is reasonably "warm". Have a look at this video and you'll see the difference between 0w and 5w

Yes, it should be 5W/30 in all UK based Volvo 5 cylinder diesels. 0w/30 is if you live somewhere with temps often below -10C. There's a very technical, recent thread on here about why it's important to get exactly the right oil spec for modern engines:
