Question C30 new rear brake pad grinding noise

Hi everyone

I replaced my rear brake pads two days ago because the previous pads are worn (on one pad there is literally nothing left) and now they are making a grinding noise when braking. At first I thought they still have to be bedded in so I braked hard a few times while driving to do this but they are still making noise when braking. Is this normal?

I replaced them with these from bosch:
https://www.autodoc.be/bosch/7428640

I replaced the ones in the front as well and these don't make any noise.

I also didn't replace the rotos because they look fine.

It's a Volvo C30 1.6D2 2011

Please don't be offended by me asking, but you have fitted the pads with the friction material facing towards the disc?
(I once fitted a pad with the metal facing the disc and it made a terrible grinding noise).

Hi, This was the problem. I took another look at the pads and the one on the left was fitted the wrong way. Stupid mistake but one I'll never forget now!

Thanks for your reply!
