Default Adding front parking sensors

Apologies if this has already been asked.

How easy or difficult would it be to add front parking sensors to a V70 P3/S80 P2, if you already had the sensors mounted on the front grilles?

Would you expect to find the wiring harness present already, or not and would it require dealer programming?

For info mine is a 2007 S80, which has factory rear parking sensors, but they only beep audibly, unfortunately there is no proximity display on my LCD entertainment screen.

Thanks, hope you're all coping well with isolation, and hopefully haven't caught the virus

Not sure why you don't have a proximity display, I thought that came with Park Assist. Perhaps it was available in later models to yours?
The official installation instructions are as follows:
https://accessories.volvocars.com/In...20(07-)%202007
You will need a software download from Volvo to activate.
It's not difficult to install, just fiddly routing cables through the cabin to the control module in the boot - I installed the front grille mounted camera in my 2015 XC70 and getting the cable through the front bulkhead seal the trickiest part.

The proximity display wasn't available in the first models. I don't know when it was introduced, but I know it came after some time.

Can I add my agreement to apersson850 too!

I have a 2007 (57 plate) 2008MY and this does NOT have the display either with factory fitted front and rear park assist. Display reads Park Assist Active (useful ) and does NOT display distance.

My system (now after replacing speakers) functions as it should for this model at this age.

I don't know if this is a software update, but I would assume it's hardware as well as software and probably not a straight forward upgrade!
