Default screen washers v70 ‘09.

Just had fun de-clogging the jets and the t piece and elbow to the jets. Interesting about the fluid as I have used whatever was available.
The elbow and t were easy to remove to prove the pump before removing the wheel to get at it. I reversed the t and elbow to blow back and unblock with the pump. Safety pin wiggle sorted the jets.

Thanks for sharing.

Is the washer bottle and pump easy to get to?? Even after clearing my jets with an air line there is a pathetic flow coming from the jets, I suspec the blockage is further down the line.

I think you will have to remove the front bumper. When I did this on my old 2008 S80 (to fix a leak from the washer bottle) I used instructions from https://www.drive2.ru/l/6570411/ and https://accessories.volvocars.com/In.../S80(07-)/2008.

In my case the hose from the bottle to the headlight washer was busted.

Good luck.

Further to ask, the fan spray for me is miles better than 2 hole directional.

So I have a 2014 V70 with 2 hole directional, are the fan spray just plug and play I assume? will the heated nozzle function still work. If so I would seriously consider changing to fan spray.

My 2003 XC70 had fan along with my 2011 V50. Was dissapointed to see they have regressed in the V70 and gone back to 2 hole directional.

Well, 2.5 years on , here's the answer to that question... it all depends which jets your car had installed in the factory! My 2011 V70 had two hole jets and I wanted to change to fan jets (my wife's 2013 C30 and my mum's 2011 C70 have them) because they use way less washer fluid than my V70. So, I researched the part numbers, realised there were heated and non heated as well as two hole jets or fan jets fitted across the 2007-2013 time span. I reckoned I knew which ones I needed and then I thought I'd just check by looking at the ones on my car first ( I have experience of Volvo part numbers...!). Well it had heated jets with a part number that said it was a V60 part... So, i bought some V60 heated fan jets and they fit and work brilliantly. So, the real lesson is - always check what parts your car has fitted, rather than relying on online (or even Volvo's own) databases...

Heated fan jet washer nozzles?

Any pictures or videos that illustrate what they are?

I'd like to fit fan spray jets to my 2012 XC70. Before I begin the research, does anyone know the part number for suitable replacement fan spray jets for my car to save me time and bother? Just being lazy.

The washer sprays a wide fan shaped spray of water that covers half the windscreen instantly while the 2 hole version sprays 2 narrow jets which the wipers have to spread. I don't know why all cars do not have fan spray jets as the cleaning action is almost instant which is safer than 2 ill adjusted narrow sprays that never put the water in exactly the right place. In my last cars I always changed the jets but with my XC70 I didn't know which units would work because of the heating of the spray heads which is why I'm seeking advice on part numbers to find a plug and play jet.

Or they are giant jet aircraft engines with huge frontal fans operating like shrouded propellers in addition the the propulsion of the rear jet efflux.

Thanks for confirming.

I'll have to check which ones my car has. If I recall correctly, they seem to spray like a fan shape. I don't think they're heated though?
