Default 1998 Volvo C70 Coupe Auto 2.5 LPT for sale

Long MOT (March 2019), full service history, mostly Volvo dealership. The car has 72K miles, it's in a very good condition, few scuffs and marks but no accident. The interior is very clean, no signs of excessive wear. Sunroof doesn't leak. The battery was replaced a month ago, also the oil and the oil filter. Has good tires, just swapped back with front, 12K on them. MAF was replaced last year with an original one (I have the invoice for it) but I think it has to be cleaned (Service light stays lit for 2-3 minutes) . New fuel pump relay (old one still good), new lights switch (old one still works). Both CV gaiters and arms replaced 2 years ago. New brakes replaced last year.
The downside is the rust on the driver door and sill. Sparks plugs and cam belt are due (cam belt due to age). And it has an issue with the driver door hold which is broken.
The dipstick tube is milky. An extensive check was carried out and the garage suspects the tube has been exposed to moisture. It doesn't have any sign of a head gasket failure. No milky oil on top of the engine. Accelerates well and does the kick down as it should.
No failed MOT's due to mechanical issues- although the last one has an advisory regarding direction indicators.
I'm selling it because I have another car and I cannot afford to keep two.
Test drive and inspections are welcome.
If any questions, just ask. And apparently it's not prone to the famous ETM failure - it's a 1998 model.

Asking £1200 o.n.o.

Nice looking car and honest description plus love the split contrast interior, if only I had room.......

Milky dipsticks tend to be caused by a semi blocked breather and/or low mileage cars just doing short journeys. Would doubt its a head problem especially with the checks already carried out. Had it on an R reg S70, cleaned tube out along with breather and was fine after that !

Best of luck and DON'T scrap it !!

Cheers

Could also be a worn out 'o' ring on the dipstick itself. I've had a couple of V70's like that myself. An uprated dipstick+tube off of ebay normally cures it.

Thank you very much for the advice, indeed, although the dipstick is new, the o-ring looks like it's not sealing properly because I can shake it in place without problems.

I tried replying to your message but got this: "Sorry, you can only send messages to the Administrators group until you have 30 posts."
Regarding the swap, unfortunately I can't keep two cars I'll be tempted by an offer.

What a cracking looking mota CG

Shame about the rust on the door but from personal experience at 20 years this appears to be the time at which these girls really start to bubbleup.

If she was a manual I would take her just to ensure she stays on the road. The now reduced price is in my view very sensible, hang in there, no reason why she should not go to a new loving home, just a question of time and how long you can remain patient.

Thanks. unfortunately I can't SORN it as I have no place off the road to keep it. then it's the insurance - I still have three weeks left and I'll keep them for if anyone wants a ride. I hope she'll find new home.
