Default Help, how to remove stuck abs sensor

Started working on replacing cv gaiter but abs sensor is stuck.

I disconnected the plug and am dousing it with penetrating oil.

I seem to recall it being a metal cylinder so by tapping the lug, once I can get it to rotate, I should be able to pull it out.

Is there a better way

Yep, that's exactly how to do it. It's out now.

It is possible to get to the underside of the sensor to poke it upwards but don't do that. The can is soft alloy so dents easily, I managed to put a small dent, hopefully not damaged it.
