Default Tow bar electrics

Hi

A 2010 xc90 under Volvo select warranty (Only a few months to run and will check the details to see if tow bar electrics choice affects this...)

but which wiring would you choose...

Universal Aftermarket wiring included in price

or go for

Vehicle specific loom attachment for £120

Any experiences? or just opinions? ta :-)

I managed to find a genuine socket and loom on eBay for £50. I believe aftermarket looms can be slightly troublesome. I still have the one that came with my towbar sitting in my garage.

Do not get a generic one, you need a vehicle specific kit and the best one is the Volvo one. It is a one off purchase and there is no argument that you have the correct kit.

Hi, I'm interested in this. Have just fitted a tow bar but am reluctant to splice in the kit that came with it. Does the genuine volvo one just plug in?

That is, if the OP doesn't want it.

It is "plug and play" but if you wish to have the rear fog light deleted when towing you will need the Volvo download.
