I don't have one either despite my handbook showing where it "should" be fitted.

I slackened the nuts on the battery terminals while making sure that the connectors were pressed onto the terminals with the other hand (not breaking connection) and dropped the eyelets over the bolts then re-applied the nuts. Job done. But I have to say, it would have been much easier if there had been a permenantly live 12v socket.

When I’m not using a car for a while I just use a conventional low power battery charger connected via a cheap plug in timer that turns it on for 15 mins a day.

A ctek charger would be better but the above works very well.

Sorry I put the incorrect wires on my original post.
You need to connect the CTEK positive to the green wire (4 pin) on the 12S plug and your negative to the white (pin 3) earth connection

It was ditched around the time of the facelift, I think. I had one in my 2009 V50. Now it is a £100 dealer fit or £35 DIY job. Very silly deletion.

I couldn’t agree more with that Nigel, but of course With the quantity of sockets that Volvo fit, they will have saved a couple of quid per car, but upset quite a few customers.

..especially in SUVs and estates where the cargo area may be used for things like cooler boxes.

I can’t read the green text? What does it say?

So is the connection there behind a panel easy diy fit? The irony is they deleted the spare wheel and now include a 12v compressor .......... which needs the bloody socket they deleted...

On the 7 pin plug it says:-
4. Green
Positive direct from battery

On the 13 pin plug it says:-
9. Green, orange or purple
Continuous 12v supply

Shouldn't be difficult to fit a 12v socket in the boot area, just ensure you put the correctly rated fuse into the circuit
