Replacement XC90 is arriving earlier than expected in mid-Feb. What is the consensus about when to arrange handover - as a 67 or 18 plate?

As the title suggests - opinions please!

Buy a cheap private plate from DVLA. @ £250 inclusive. It will still be 2018 car, but nobody will ever know what month it is.

18 plate for the sake of a couple of weeks. I like the new car experience and part of that is having the latest plate you can have. Nothing to do with cost or residual values.

I think my attitude stems from my childhood when I remember how excited my Mum and Dad were when they bought their first brand new car after having second hand ones. This was in in 1987 when the letters denoting the year changed once each year in 1 August. The dealer laid on midnight deliveries and a little party. It was a great experience.

If it’s arriving mid February you won’t get the car for a few days more. I would wait if it was me.
