850 AWD with a squeaky drivers seat.
Anyone know how I can get rid of the very slight squeak on the drivers seat? It's really only noticeable when the radio is off, but annoying nonetheless.

Try using shoe polish or other leather polish on all the joining surfaces, including the one where the seat belt buckle hits the side of the seat.
That often squeaks and polish silences it. |

RE: 850 AWD with a squeaky drivers seat.
I'd be pretty confident it's seat side rubbing against the seat belt buckle - mine does this, and it does sound like something much more major, took me ages to find it!
I usually just push the seatbelt reciever towards the back of the car and this stops it squeaking. Will have to try the polish idea! Cheers, AJ |

I use WD40 every now and then. This serves two purposes. 1) it stops the squeek. 2) I love the smell.

I'd use it as deodorant if I could.

Has the polish worked? I have the same problem and was considering taking it to dealer to renew springs, would of done by now if they hadnt quoted nearly 800 quid for new springs and reupholstery!! But i will try polish tomorrow.

Tomorrow I will involve both furniture polish and WD40 in my endeavours to eradicate the eek. |

RE: 850 AWD with a squeaky drivers seat.
My god that squeaking noise drives me up the wall in my 850, and I believe it to be the seat belt catch rubbing up against the half leather upholstery. As for the shoe polish and the WD40, I shall give it a go and let you guys know how it works.
Cheers for the ideas
