New to me, 11 plate V60.
Hi everyone,
I bought a v60 the other day as a replacement for my returned lease car. It's a nice place to be, but i'm a fiddler and wondered if i could ask some questions and get some advice on a few things. Firstly my auto close mirrors work fine when locking the car, but the drivers mirror doesn't fully extend back to the fully open position. I'm assuming it's the gear drive as the motor sounds functional and doesn't sound like it's failing. I can't see these listed for sale specifically for the v60, but looking at the mirror design it's the same for the s60 and possibly just slightly revised indicator from the s80 model. Can anyone confirm / deny for me? Second to this i would like to service the gearbox (as well as the engine, it's slightly overdue) can anyone tell me what grade of oil the box takes and does it have a replaceable filter? I'm assuming this might be dealer only as some auto boxes are 'sealed for life' but in reality the need servicing to prevent failure. I'm thinking Land Rover and BMW here from past experience. Thirdly, i would like to upgrade the satnav to the latest maps available. I believe my system is the rti mmm+ but i can't find any online resellers that have a 2018 disk available for it. My v60 was first registered March 2011. Am i barking up the wrong tree or will a disk set designed for the XC60 work? https://satnavstore.com/Volvo/volvo-...av-disc-update Fourthly, i would like to add a rear camera to the car for parking, i will be sharing the car with my partner and she's not great with spatial awareness. The car has rear PDC and a front camera, but anything to help her would be a bonus. Has anyone fitted a non-genuine camera? What parts do you need and was it a simple task - did you need to program anything to enable it? I'm looking to a few years of happy motoring in this car, and i'll probably add some touches to it to add additional functionality and the generally keep it tip top condition. First port of call are: a good service and check over, fix the mirror and clean and moisturise the leather. 😊 Thanks and sorry for the long-winded first post. |

Hi,
I'm new to the Volvo world also. I too have recently bought a V60. As to your question about the sat nav, how can you tell which one it is? The volvo website gives the option of it being the sensus, but I don't have a USB connector. And there's more than one RTI system. If you could shed some light I would be extremely grateful! In the menu system there's an option to display your map version number. That'll tell you the map date and the system type.

Not exactly the same problem, but useful info here on dismantling the mirror to get to the mechanism... https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=178802
Maybe your system has already been reprogrammed to accept free updates? https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support...map&csid=iam21
