How would I know if I was eligible for the Affinity scheme? Is it for buying outright or just for leasing/finance?

So long as you have been a member of the eligible organisation (Volve Owners Club or others) for 6 months I think the discounts are available however you buy.

I'm sure that is true for the s/v90 - as the affinity deal is 10% discount + £1200 (s90) / £300 (v90) off + FOC metallic paint.

It is not nearly so generous on the XC90 - and DTD etc were cheaper when I checked. However the dealer I used near enough matched DTD - and offered much quicker delivery.

Right now, Volvo UK and its dealers are able to sell most of the XC90s they can can get hold of so introducing cheaper engine variants, whether T5 or D4, will not happen until demand for the existing high value and high margin cars starts to wane.

I think it will happen but the timing will be entirely down to market forces.

The T5 isn't cheaper than the D5, at least not in Belgium.

Kind of bad news- my dealer hasn't been able to get a MY17 car anywhere in the U.K. And they say Volvo have now closed MY17 production...if I want my order to stand it's to be a MY18 car and September delivery!
Now I'm waiting to see if they'll match the personal lease deal we agreed on that and should hear tomorrow
No idea what differences there are....

Try Jim Wood at volvo in Poole. He's got a pile of new MY17 XC90's in stock according to my link on CarWow.

Ditto Simon Ross and Satyan Parmar at Endeavour Volvo in London.

My local dealer told me "yeah, there's nothing in the country" before Christmas. When i tried some other dealers, there seemed to be plenty. You just have to be flexible on spec given they're already in the dealers.

I managed to order one today for March delivery to my spec. Try CarWow - register on it, and submit what you want - the dealers come back to you within the day to say what they have.

On the email i got from CarWow today, I can see quite a few Inscriptions, a few R-Designs, and a T8 - all brand new and sitting at dealers. Try it....can only say no!

I was also sitting in the dealer in Edinburgh last Saturday, and he was showing me slots for May/June delivery which they had, so i tend to feel different dealers spin different stories for reasons unknown to me!! Volvo don't shut their production line down for 6 months!! I can't see how you're looking at Sep delivery given it's only february!!

Bells in Bedford May also be worth a shout as they told me they have a fair few.
