360 glt
Hi, I'm a very new member. My '85 360 glt had the same gear shift failure described here. The mechanic was scratching his head, thinking he would have to remove the gearbox to drop the torque tube to gain access to gear shift linkage. When I told him I wasn't prepared to spend that much he had another look and managed to weld a bracket to support the ball joint. Gear change is very slick and notchy now! But a bit of vibration coming through. Was wondering if foggyjames managed to post any pics of his similar problem.
Thanks |

When I had this problem, I did the time-consuming thing and replaced the shift rod thingy...so no interesting pictures I'm afraid!
cheers James

I just cut into the chassis above and in front of the gear lever and welded up the cracks between the rod and flat bit thats its supposed to be welded to. worked a tread and was quick to do.
