Default Volvo high-milers, what can the D5 engine cover?

Evening all who might be interested. I recently saw an S60 D5 on eBay with 365,000 miles on the clock, still going strong and sold for around £800.

What sort of mileage is the D5 capable of?

That's a pretty amazing figure to get to in my opinion but just wondering if anyone has seen super high mileage in any Volvo?

There's an official Volvo High Mileage club which gives out window stickers from 150000 miles and you go on the register.
I'm pretty sure the top is close to a million miles and there's some other big numbers too.
There's a thread on here somewhere......

That one you've seen sell for £800 will still contain quite a lot of sought after parts so the buyer wins whether it drives or not.

Mine will be clicking over 330,000 in the next week. An 03 S60 d5. Still pulls like a train, no knocks or rattles and zero smoke! Best part is its five cylinder noise, I can almost pretend it's my old Audi S2 Quattro!!

Amazing car!

If you have a euro 3 d5 well it will run to the end of the world. Euro 4 on the other hand well it's not unheard of them needing a top end rebuild normally before 200k as the cam followers deform, mine is sounding quite rattly at tick over at the moment. Plus the swirl arm link and internal valves wear so again more expensive repairs that are caused by just general wear and tear. The modern diesel will do the mileage but not without a wallet to fund its maintainance

Amazing car!
330 is good going! Hope to keep mine for as long as financially viable but at my current mileage that'll be another 20 years to catch up to you haha. I love the sound of mine too, a proper throaty growl. Would love to take an S2 Quattro for a spin mind, never driven one.

Trigger: "It's the same brush I've always had Dave. There's a photo of it, what more proof do you need?"
