Hi @OldEngineer,

Interesting, so just to clarify, are you saying brand new whole wiper arm assemblies 'slap' on reverse once deteriorated or just when using the new inserts?

How much were the complete Bosch units?

I took the rubber inserts out and reversed them when fitting back in. It`s like having new . Try it. A no cost fix!!!!

Now that's a very interesting idea @Keithandrew and I'll certainly be trying that!

I guess the deterioration is from wiping up and taking the dirt away whereas on the reverse wipe it's pure clean glass.

How long have/did yours last after doing this?

Bought some genuine Volvo blades on eBay for my 2016 XC90, cost me about £45 for the pair of front blades

So £45 for the entire wiper assemblies? That's a very good price if so compared to what Volvo quoted me.

Does yours have the water jet perforations running up the arm or does it spray a jet onto the windscreen? Are yours heated?

Been using Bosch wipers for 40-odd years after trying various other makes on various other cars. Good for about 3 years with our sort of low mileage motoring.

Hi @Pidgeonpost,

Same question to you based on the car stated at the bottom of your signature, does yours have the water jet perforations running up the arm or does it spray a jet onto the windscreen? Are yours heated?

Jets are in the wiper arms, don’t believe the jets are heated, does that make a difference to the blades?

Here’s the ones I bought, gone up a couple of quid since I bought them though

Hi - sorry for the late reply. Mine are just the conventional setup with nozzles in the bonnet. Unsure whether heated but can check.

So those arms you've linked to have the water jets running up the arm as they look like the previous generation, just like my MY16 V60 has but my jets are under the bonnet and quirt onto the windscreen in 6 jets/straight lines?
