Default Sunroof seals

After another lovely British summers day if got in my V40 estate, started it up, moved off then found the water fall comming from the overhead internal light housing.

Does anybody have any ideas on where its comming from? If its the sunroof seals, Where can i get a cheap replacement and how does it fit??

Cheers

Water naturally surrounds the sunroof and travels down each side pillar channels........make sure all is clear......when you gently tip water by the open sunroof the water will come out at your feet! so mind your new shoes.

The water usually comes in the actual sunroof where the glass meets the metal frame, the seal fails, if you dry it off and smear some VASELINE not sealer along the joint on the inside especially the corners it will stay flexible and will not leak! This will easily wipe off the glass.

If this fails then try elswhere!

if that doesn't work as on mine get some captain tolleys creeping crack repair and do all round the rubber seal wher it meets the glass, keep putting it on after each lot has dried until it doesnt soak in any more voila your roof is then sealed.
on mine it was running in the joint of the rubber surround on the glass then doing what yours is running through the roof light as it was completely missing the catch channel for any leaks between the rubber and car body.
Get a small size one as it goes a long way and apply it sparingly

possible the drainage hose at 4 corners blocked. the rear hose is larger than front. my advice park your car tilting front in order water runs to the back.
