Default Panel gaps

Hi All,

I have a 2019 XC60 that I bought as an ex demo from the dealer. I’m really pleased with it except that there’s a wider gap between the bumper and the tailgate on the left hand side and on the right that messes with my OCD. I knew this when I bought it and ignored it as the car was just what I wanted. I see this quite a lot on land rovers (especially the Range Rover sport for some reason) but is is less common on Volvos from what I can see. It seems like the very top part of the boot (where it meets the roof) is properly aligned, it’s as if the glass and the lower part where fixed on slightly to the right of where they should be.

I appreciate this is a really stupid thing to worry about but it is so frustrating now as every other panel gap on the car is even. Has anyone else experienced anything similar. Does anyone know if the boot is made of separate parts that could be slightly shuffled?

Cheers,

Steve

Take it to the dealer and get them to sort it. The bumper you see is just a plastic cover over the real bumper, it’s probably a simple adjustment. I have stuff that like so feel your pain bro!

I had similar on my previous V90CC except the uneven gap was towards the centre of the tailgate, in fact it was so close that there were small marks where it had just touched the bumper.
I had noticed it when we collected the car but with all the excitement and learning as much as possible about a totally new model before driving away, I forgot to draw it to their attention.
But a few emailed pics later and the dealership agreed to sort it - turned out it had a slight parking bump which had dislodged some of the clips holding the various components together, but no damage.
Came back good as new - nice even gap right across - OCD placated!
