Did mine in a vice but it was a bit of a bind so ditched it and took it down to one of the garages I work and used their press. Thank you SRS for pointing out that I had totally missed the correct loctite number........old age is a terrible thing.. you want to be grateful that I am not asking again.
Ron..you have explained re the air something I have been ranting on about for some time.... the minimal amount of thread lock you get in a tube or container.

Hey Marer1ck;
Can you give any long term impressions on that bushing? ..including any perceivable differences in feel/response? ...or... no news is good news! Cheers |

STILL don't know why not just use an earlier greaseable style, where every part that can wear is easily obtainable and replaceable, and when adjusted correctly has less play than the newer rubber style, though perhaps not tighter than with this Loctite-dependent upgrade.

nNH;
I was under the impression that the early style was no longer available and had been replaced by the later unserviceable ones, and that is why this "boedr" developed and is supplying these new ones... Cheers |

All I can say is that the one on my daily driver is functioning perfectly a good year after fitting. You have reminded me to grease it though, so thanks.

Agree with amazon69...nearly a year of hard driving around potholed Africa and everything is going well. I've put about 10,000km on this bushing and the only "downside" is the abrupt jerk of the wheel when you hit an especially deep pothole (which would have been somewhat softened by the rubber bushing). The trade off is more than worth it and if any future Amazon I own has the rubber bushing I will convert it either to this bushing or by using northnh's method of finding an old style arm in his barn and rebuilding as necessary.
Yes this is off topic, but the reason I say "future Amazon" is because I have recently come to the difficult realization that I will need to sell this Amazon when I permanently depart Zimbabwe this summer. With a growing family and a strong history of road tripping successfully in an Amazon a wagon is the logical next step! |

I'm looking at ordering this kit. I cannot find the ebay listing anymore. When I try to order from their website their standard shipping to the United States is 125 euros for 75 euro part. Ouch
Does anyone know of a place that I could order it from where the shipping wouldn't cost and arm and a leg. I sent them a couple of emails today and waiting on replies. Hopefully they can do a little better on the shipping. |

Skandix sells them. Classic Swede's price looks better.
