Both styles of original alloys for a 'mk3' are rather ugly, in my opinion, but they should be fairly easy to find, as most people swap them for something better looking!

I have a set of these for sale:

...but I don't think they suit the newer cars too well.

I also have a set of from a 440, which look quite nice on a later 360.
They're almost the same as these (on my 360), but the ones for sale have a 'slash' cut out of the spoke. I can't find a picture of them at the moment.

Drop me a line if your friend is interested...

cheers

James

Smile Thanks

I'll let John know tomorrow and come back to you. Any idea on price? The tyres on the car are new so it would be good if the new alloys would fit teh original tyres.

John used to have one of the 1989 redline models and this had some very smart alloys on it. You don't have any of these by chance?

Would the 440 alloys need a different set of tyres? 13" wheels are currently fitted.

Many thanks for your help

Best regards

Matthew

The Redline should have had these (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...E_labelled.jpg) wheels. They're not my cup of tea, but if John likes them, they're fairly easy to find. They're also the correct size for that car - 13". Note that there is a very similar looking wheel fitted to 1985+ 360 GLTs, but these are 14". The spoke pattern is different, if you look carefully.

Both of the sets of wheels I have for sale will require different sized tyres - the ones shown there on my blue 'mk2' 360 GLT are 14" ("Leo" rims), while the 440 ones are 15". The 15" rims I have (including a 15" steel spare) have tyres I would consider to be good. I don't think any of my 14" ones have usable tyres.

Price...£50 for the 14s (on the blue car)...consider the tyres to be scrap. £80 for the 15s. I'll be heading in your general direction in a few weeks to deliver a 360, so I could arrange a drop-off if John is interested. I rather suspect that he'll end up tracking down some of those 13s, though...

cheers

James
