Default Remove petrol from C30 D3 Diesel tank?

I filled my D3 with petrol and ran the car until it cut out.
There is only 15 litres of fuel in it.
Can anyone tell me the easiest way to remove the fuel?

Will a tube go down the tank fuel filler neck so that I can siphon it out?
I have VIDA. Do I use the software to run the fuel pump?

If there's only 15L of petrol in it, add about 45L of diesel. You should be able to get it started on that mix, top up with more diesel ASAP but expect a smokey exhaust for a while and don't give it too much welly until you've burnt all the petrol off. It should go through within about a tankful.

On the upside, petrol used to be added by owners to diesel vehicles during winter to help prevent diesel waxing, modern anit-waxing additives virtually eliminate the need for this but the rule of thumb was anything up to 1/4 tank of eptrol in a full tank would run happily, although a bit smokey.

Might take a while to pull the diesel through once you add it, there are some services around that come to you and pump the incorrect fuel out but they tend to be expensive - i heard reports of about £400 over Xmas, obviously inflated prices due to it being out of hours and the festive season but still won't be cheap.

Old diesels with low pump pressures can handle gasoline mixtures
Common rail high pressure pumps cant handle that much petrol it will be damaged due to lack of lubrication
Easy way to get it out is to disconnect the feed to the high pressure pump and let the lift pump empty the tank via the disconnected feed tube with the key on contact 2
Check fuel filter after the emptying can be clogged with water and debris

Good point - forgot it was likely to be common rail.

Potentially the damage is already done in that case, seeing as it ran to a stop, still with 15L of fuel in there.

The engine stopped because the petrol reached the injectors and the pure petrol detonates before top dead centre with diesel compression, not of a broken pump
So there is little petrol being pumped with the high pressure pump, so the damage yet can be very limited....but using up the 15 litres in high mixture is not a good plan lubricity wise
Also the injectors will suffer
