Default Can I clear the service reminder

I bought my car on August 6th this year from a main dealer. The service wasnt due until November but the dealer serviced it early for me when I picked the car up. Since this morning, everytime I start the car, a service reminder comes up on the dash. I'm guessing they forgot to reset it when they serviced it. Question is can I reset it, or is it a visit to the main dealer.

Turn the ignition key to position 1, press and hold the trip odometer reset button, then turn the ignition to position 2 within 2 seconds. Release the the reset button within 4 seconds. The instrument panel should give a audible signal. Turn off ignition.
If the odometer is already set to 0 then it must be pressed for 10 seconds and a max of 14 seconds! This is what my manual says, hope this works for you,

The technicians are used to doing services they do it with their eyes closed ( sometimes ! ) so hardly likely to forget it , was the book stamped , any evidence it had a service? ( oil stains around the oil filter housing and sump plug , a handbrake not slack , full wash bottle

Not the easiest but one of the best ways to check and see if a service has been done is to pull out the pollen filter. If that is clean and new looking then more than likely a service was done.

You'll see what I mean if you pull out the pollen filter - it's a PITA! So if it's been done then a service will have been done too I'd say.

Service book was stamped, its a franchised main dealership so I've no doubt the service was done. The service would have been due early November so the system is giving me a months warning.

I checked mine, which was changed last year by a local independent, they'd put it in the wrong way round though....
