Yet another brakes problem!!!!
Hi all
Another brain picker! When i bought my C70 (about 1 mth ago) they changed the front disc's and pads, I have only done about 1000 miles in it and now it sound like the front brakes are binding any ideas? What is it with my volvo's and brakes :( regards Martin Chadwick Bashy 98 C70 GT T5

RE: Yet another brakes problem!!!!
Hi, they may have changed the pads but did they clean the mating faces to the calipers. From experience the garage merely pops the old ones out and stuffs the new ones in. I always make sure that the mating faces are cleaned , those the pads sit in and the surfaces of the pistons. I also clean the paint off the edges of the pads as often they start to rust under the paint and begin to bind. One other point is are the slides clean, i.e. the bolts the caliper slides together on as the pads wear. Hope this helps Cheers Nigel
