For your information. As you're near Winchester then M & B fuel injection services in Eastleigh refurbished my injectors on my last car (Range Rover 2.5TDI). each injector was £25 and the one with the sensor was £40. Done, tested and warrantied in 3 days. Car ran like new. Place was a life (and wallet) saver.

That is shockingly cheap! Great to know

Shame you’re not closer, I really think you have a fuel pressure issue, but it could be caused by a £300 pump or a £15 filter.

Unfortunately I would have to disagree. I've had all 5 injectors leak and had them all refurbished from carwoods in Birmingham in June 2017. It is rare but my xc90 started after 2 to 3 turn from the starter motor. Cost was around £750 . No problems since touch wood

Volvo did diagnose faulty injectors a few years earlier but resolved the issue with software updates to bring them with tolerance levels

Nish,

Took the injectors out myself. Not too difficult a job. 3/8' long socket and a gentle touch.
I am not a mechanic, just an enthusiastic DIYer. Walked them in the door and just asked, they were very friendly, I couldn't believe how cheap it was. They looked like new when I picked them up.

Have fun.
