No Chgr message V70 / Alpine

Hi All
First post although had V70 2.5 10V for 242000 miles from new. Now having to put up with V70 2.5 20V XLT T youngster at 80000 miles. :^)
The new one comes with an Alpine CD Changer but the front end doesn't seem to recognise it as being there. No Chgr message.
Unit has power, converter Alpine to Volvo.
Any ideas from anyone.

WE HAVE HAD FAILURE OF THE INTERFACE UNITS IN THE PAST,
hOWEVER THE FAULT CAN BE IN THE CHANGER.

IF YOU NEED HELP YOU CAN CAL US OR SEND THE CHANGER WITH THE INTERFACE TO US
