Default Speedo cable adaptor install ?????

As I am fixing the fluid leaks in the BW35 in my 75 164e I put a new gasket on the tailshaft and for the life of me cant figure a smart way to reinstall
the driven gear for the speedo cable.

Seems to hang up on the O-ring (or so it seems)
Looking for tips or tricks.

Got it. (in case anyone was wondering LOL)
It popped in place after a struggle. I pressed it in with a small bar that had a hole to allow the driven gear to poke through.

Still surprised at how tough it was. Fords and GM's are not.
