Default V50 Tow Car

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone uses a V50 D5 auto as a tow car? Thinking of getting a 2007/2008 one to replace our 1999 V70. The V50 is a little bit lighter apparently but only 100kg and our caravan is only 1250kg fully loaded so weight ratio should be ok. Just thought I would check on here in case there is a reason why we shouldn't get a V50.

Thanks,

Mike

Weight wise you will be fine and of course the D5 is a great towing donkey.

The only slight point I would make is the V50 sits quite low, especially when heavily loaded. Not so good if you tend to use "rural" campsites.

I think the nose weight is ok on the V50 but we paid the extra and went for an XC90 in the end. Means I've got to do the b+e test as the combined weight is over the limits for my driving licence but I always planned to do that at some point anyway
