Question '99 V70 ECM 2110 code

Got this code the other day - "ECM 2110 Front O2 preheat signal too high". Car runs fine other than the annoying light on the dash. I've done a bit of reading and am getting ready to replace the sensor. I have it broken loose ready to remove. My regular parts jobber carries BOSCH 15057 "oem" direct fit replacement; doesn't carry any other brand. Anyone have problems with the BOSCH?
Questions: Has anyone here tried to 'clean' the sensor? Did that work and what did you use? Should I erase the code before or after replacing / cleaning?
THANKS for any helpful comments!
Bob
