Restoring faded trim
Having just purchased a very nice 2005 XC90, I wanted to give the trim a new lease of life. Over the years I have stopped using the classic trim restorers that only last a few weeks, to using something that lasts.
Up until recently I would swear by 'Forever Black', which works wonders and lasts ages: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Forever-B...frcectupt=true However, it is a bit of a pain if it gets on the paintwork and dries and can over time scratch off ( but still amazing and long-lasting ) This time I used another product called 'Solution Trim' : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Solution-...frcectupt=true Now, this is still £16! and the bottle is so small! 28ml, but in the interest of all of us facing crappy trim, I decided to give it a go. The results so far excellent ( remember to wipe with rubbing alcohol to remove previous gunk) So easy to wipe off paintwork if accidentally wiped, dries quickly and uniform. Used a micro fibre cloth to apply ( and gloves to save black fingers). Now the bottle just managed to cover 99% of the car trim before running out ( forgot to do trim around front wipers) But overall like forever black seems to be a top product and time rain and sun will now test its lifespan. I have included some pictures which show some of the results. I hope this is of use now the sun is out and time to do a clean.
