2005 V70 T5 Mirror Glass Removal
Hi
I need to remove the wing mirror glass from my 2005 facelift V70 T5 so i can get the mirror cover repainted. Is it the same process as the earlier model? I have read you need to tilt the glass back towards the door and using fingers or suitable tool get behind the mirror and push the glass outwards. Is this correct? Thanks |

I'm not 100% sure about the answer to your question, but as you have done the job on an earlier model, using the same techniques on this car should be ok. This sort of job is very hard to describe the necessary actions, but once you have done it the second, third time etc you do the job the easier it becomes.

The process should be the same as the older cars, it's a little bit fidly at first, but easy once you get the hang of it.

Hi
I found it on Vida. What it doesnt tell you is how to get the cover off for painting. Probably just clips on. Thanks |

All sorted. The glass does indeed just pop off, with a bit of prying.
The cover is removed from the top edge first. Its held on at the bottom with tabs. I have a set of car trim removal tools one of them is a flat wide thin tool that is ideal for pushing under the top of the black plastic surround and easing the cover off. The kit is cheap and been one of the best things i bought to prevent damage to trim parts. |
