Default XC90 Trailer Module

Having taken half my car apart to connect up an original Volvo Towing electrics harness, I don't appear to have/find the Trailer Module (TRM), it certainly isn't where the instructions say it is. Is it possible that my car (2007) doesn't have one fitted and if so is it something that can be retro fitted.

It is not fitted by default

It must be purchased and installed.

Very easy to fit, it is installed with tape and velcro, in the cavity beside the REM.

Easily accessible with zero tools and just removing one panel.

Of course you will also need the wiring loom, and that requires more effort to fit

Thanks for the info, next questions are: how many different TRM's are there, went on Ebay and found one from a 2005 car, mine is 2007, not sure whether they are compatible. Second question, is there another cable that connects the power to the unit or is it via the black plug on the towing harness that plugs into the fuse board?

My advice (having been through the same process) is to buy the parts from a dealer who will give you the right parts first time. I can recommend FRF in Swansea, who will give you a discount if you tell them you're on this forum.
