Default MOT joy!

After spending all Summer and Autumn recommissioning my beloved 744 and returning it to it's former glory, I put it in for its MOT yesterday with a bit of trepidation...I'm an amateur spanner spinner at best, keen but learning as I go. I've spent many years racing and maintaining go karts, but obviously rebuilding a car is a different kettle of fish!

To my immense joy, the car passed with no advisories...when I collected it I asked if there was anything that would need attention in the near future, and the chap who did the test laughed and said "no, it's perfect. Ridiculous for a car close to 30yrs old. Just drive it and enjoy!"

So I'm going to continue doing just that! I'd like to say a big thank you again to everyone who has contributed advice and help here when I've been curious or stuck with something, especially Dave aka Laird Scooby whose advice has been absolutely invaluable!

Congrats on the pass Phil! Glad my ramblings have proved helpful as well!

On the subject of thanks, been meaning to say a big thank you for reminding me about the injector conversion/upgrade and inspiring me to do mine - so much smoother and more economy/power depending how light (heavy!) footed i am!

Hooray! It's always nice to get another years ticket, especially for something you've invested time, effort, blood, sweat, tears, expletives and most likely dosh too.

Is it an estate or saloon? I saw a gorgeous silver estate in Yeovil Auto Tuning when the hearse had its suspension done, I would recommend that garage to anyone in the area for older cars especially as the owner said he looks after a couple of 7xx/9xx Volvo's.
