Default Headlight adjusters.

Hi, I am wondering if anyone has any knowledge about replacing the headlight adjusters ?

My vertical beam won't adjust up or down via the 6mm nut adjuster it just keep clicking, so wondered if anyone has ever replace one ? Probably easier just to buy a secondhand unit. Cheaper as well I would guess.

There is an override Allen key screw, which is under the part the 6mm screw is trying to adjust. The problem is that you have to remove the headlight to adjust it , which then turns into a bit of guessing game, because you don't know what adjustment has been made until you put the headlight back..

Its a bit of a nuisance, but not impossible at all. Did all my regulations straight on Allan keys regulators (be noted - different size for vertical, different for horizontal ) as my white ones were damaged ever since. Worse problem when the allan key regulator is gone (like on one headlamp on mine now) but even this is doable with long-nose pliers. All I do is pull the lamp out while attached to car (so when its on) and do a small-steps adjustments while in front of a setup wall. Usually half of rotation of Allan regulator = visible few mm difference in vertical so 2, 3 tries and you are good to go. No need to buy 2nd hand unit as it _WILL_ break again. Crappy design that is not withstanding trial of time, unfortunately.

The hex nut on mine is knackered on one side (actually, possibly both headlights!), so I'm considering stripping the headlights down and cleaning them out anyway but they are so so far out of alignment.
Shame there isn't a repair kit for these as it seems a common problem.

Actually........ (searching in Vida)..... I remembered that it was possible to order THIS
although it will work only if your allan screws are not damaged.
Pity there is no real repair kit though, as you mentioned :/

Some clown managed to snap my allenkey adjuster off at the last mot and suggested i buy a new headlamp. Instead i just cut a groove in it with a dremel and adjusted it with a flat head screwdriver.

Hi guys, well I tried to adjust them but they didn't seem to be moving I parked the same distance from the fence as before when I fitted the xenons. I gave it 2 full turns on the vertical adjuster and it didn't seem to make any difference,
Or maybe I should get stuck in and give it a few turns, but I am worried I might over do it.

Oh and the lower adjuster is for vertical you access it from the side of the headlight.

Did you ever have any luck with this?
